PyeongChang Olympic Stadium
As the home of both the opening and closing ceremonies, the PyeongChang Olympic Stadium is one of the largest venues with the capacity to seat 35,000 spectators. Even so, it is considered small compared to previous Olympics stadiums such as the Fisht Olympic stadium of Sochi Olympics, which could seat 40,000 people. It is most often recognized by its pentagonal shape, which represents the five rings of the Olympics.
Alpensia Biathlon Center
Hosting ten games during the PyeongChang Olympics, Alpensia Biathlon Center is the site for all biathlon events. The center was also home to two major competitions including IBU Biathlon World Cup in 2008 and IBU Biathlon World Championships in 2009. The Biathlon Course at the Alpensia Biathlon Center is 16.3km long, with a 82.5m by 50m shooting range. Able to hold a total of 7,500 people, the stadium can sit 4,500 and has a standing area for the other 3,000.
Alpensia Cross-Country Skiing Center
The Alpensia Cross-Country Skiing Center is the site for Nordic Combined as well as Cross Country Skiing, hosting a total of 12 events. Like the Alpensia Biathlon Center, the center can hold a total of 7,500 people with 4,500 seats available for sitting. The Alpensia Cross-Country Center held the FIS Far East Cup National Championships consecutively for three years from 2011 to 2013.
Alpensia Ski Jumping Center
Alpensia Ski Jumping Center is home to four Ski Jumping events. The center is also use for Nordic Combined as well as Snowboarding. The center can hold about 8,500 spectators in total, of which around three fourths can sit. With two slopes for competitive rounds and three for practice, the center hosted the FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup in 2009 and 2011.
Olympic Sliding Center
The Olympic Sliding Center held eight events in the Luge, Bobsleigh, and Skeleton categories. Able to hold 7,000 spectators, the Sliding Center has 6,000 standing seats and 1,000 sitting seats. The seating areas are about a 20 to 30 minute walk away form the entrance.
Pheonix Snow Park
The Pheonix Snow Park held a total of 18 events in Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding. Holding 18,000 people in total, it is one of the centers with a larger sitting capacity with a total 10,200 seats available.
Jeongseon Alpine Center
Holding a total of 6,500 people, the Jeongseon Alpine Center was the site for Alpine Skiing. The center hosted a total of six events.
Yongpyong Alpine Center
The Yongpyong Alpine Center is one of the two sites holding Alpine Skiing Center along with the Jeongseon Alpine Center. Holding less than the Jeongseon Alpine Center, the Yongpyong Center holds around 6,000 people in total.
