In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda franchise, Nintendo announced that they will release a Nintendo Switch remake for classic Zelda games, including “Wind Waker,” “Twilight Princess,” and “Skyward Sword HD.” With “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening” already released into a Nintendo Switch remake on Sept. 20, 2019, fans of the Zelda franchise have been excited, and more classics will be remastered later this year.
“It is exciting to hear that such classics are being remastered into Nintendo Switch games,” Claire Kim (11), fan of games, said. “Since the Legend of Zelda series is very well-known and popular , I am also looking forward to the Switch version of the game and the changes that will be made in their newest version.”
The remaster of “Skyward Sword HD”, one of the classics, has been confirmed to release on July 16. Nintendo announced that this classic is coming to Switch with a new version, as “Skyward Sword HD” has gained popularity after its initial release as a Wii game. Along with the Switch remake, Nintendo will also be releasing special joy-cons for the game in order to enhance the new gaming experience.
“I am looking forward to the remakes of classic games,” Christine Cho (12), another fan of games, said. “The Zelda series has been popular for years, and it is exciting to hear that they are releasing remastered versions of these games. I think that the remastered versions are going to have new and improved graphics that will make the gaming experience more enjoyable.”
For other well-known games such as “Wind Waker” and “Twilight Princess,” the Wii U has already developed HD remasters of them which will be released this year–Skyward Sword’s remake seems likely for fans. The remaster will help Nintendo celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Zelda franchise and games, and many fans are looking forward to the remakes as the popular game series is one of gamers’ all-time favorites.
