“Andor,” the newest “Star Wars” TV show, premiered on Disney Plus on Sept. 21 to positive reviews from fans and critics alike.

Starring Diego Luna in the titular role, the series serves as a prequel to the film “Rogue One” and follows the character Cassian Andor. Despite the divide between fans over the quality of recent films from the franchise, “Rogue One” has a generally positive reception.

“I think ‘Rogue One’ was one of the best ‘Star Wars’ movies,” Eddie Chu (11), an avid “Star Wars” fan, said. “It stands alone as a really good movie in general, and I like that [Andor] is exploring a character from the movie.”

Many “Star Wars” fans praised the show for its more mature tone and focus on character-driven stories.

“I think it’s really what we need in ‘Star Wars’ right now because a lot of the other shows cater to a younger audience,” Eddie said. “Overall, we need more shows that are mature and dive into characters and their development.”
