The DMZ Eco Youth Club showcased their images of the DMZ in the atrium from Sept. 11-14. The exhibition included a diverse collection of images of not just plants and animals, but also the surrounding area of the DMZ.
“The significance of the exhibit is to allow students to gain an insight into the surreal experience of the DMZ area,” Tobias Choy (12), senior DMZ Eco Youth club member, said. “The DMZ is full of unique plants, birds, and insects that we do not see in our daily lives, so the exhibit is to raise awareness of such species.”
Since April, the sophomore DMZ Eco Youth club members Chae-Eun Park (10), Aidan Han (10), Jian Yoon (10), and Woosung Choi (10) went to the DMZ every month to take pictures to document the DMZ environment, culminating in a thesis paper that can be presented to professors and researchers in the field.
