The SIS Academic Quiz Team (AQT) competed in their third quiz tournament at SIS on Jan. 13. The team rallied their efforts in proving to the international school community that they were the best contenders for the tournament. The stakes were set high, as this time around, St. Paul’s, a new member school, would also be joining the competition. Feedback around hosting locations and logistics received from the last tournament from both participating members and schools was taken into consideration. The success of the tournament proved that necessary changes were made.
Determined to perform well, the SIS team distributed their members out more evenly, resulting in a far more even score than before. Team members commented on feeling like they could participate more and answer more questions.
“I think that this tournament went especially well,” Chong Min, a long-time veteran of the quiz team, said. “Everyone was telling me how exciting and eventful it was. Plus, I got to see some members that have not been participating much.”
It was clear from the getgo that SIS would rework its strategy to better fit the tournament and the results spoke for themselves. The spread of SIS student players on the leaderboard for the tournament was much better than last time, citing clear improvement
