The SIS golf team has put itself shoulder to shoulder in terms of victories with some of our school’s other well-established sports programs. Just last week, the golf team had its first friendly match against KIS, with the boys dominating with a 10+ stroke lead. Though the match was intense, the SIS varsity golf boys were able to emerge victorious, beating the KIS varsity boys golf team by a considerable margin.
“Whether it be on real grass or artificial grass, the boys golf team has demonstrated incredible versatility,” Joonho Kim (12), varsity golf captain, said. “We lost to strong teams like KIS a couple times last year; it is different this year. Though it was screen golf, I can very easily see how this might translate to our performance on the field.”
Unlike previous years, the golf team has put a very strong emphasis on practices. By going to a mix of screen golf and driving ranging, the golf team has better prepared themselves for all sorts of game conditions. With the SIS golf team stronger than ever, they are poised to make this season their best one yet.
