A digital game of tag, Assassin, was hosted by HSSC last week with 69 high school participants. The winner of the event was Justin Hong (12).
In the event, students tried to take selfies with their targets to “assassinate” them in the game. Kills could only occur during free periods, such as office hours or activity periods, with a minimum of one kill per day.
Photos had to be within “stabbing range,” with photos taken with the target too far away nullified by HSSC. Students even went to the extent of covering their faces with hoods when walking down hallways, trying to avoid getting caught.
The prize for first place in the event was either a Labubu plushie doll or a mobile game item, along with a ₩ 30,000 Snack Shack coupon. This was awarded to the last standing participant of the event.
“Assassin in one event I look forward to participating in every year,” Ben Lee (11), Assassin participant, said. “It has always been fun playing Assassin, and I have participated in the event every year since I was a freshman. I hope [HSSC] hosts Assassin next year, too.”
The sneakiest photo award went to William Park (12), and the funniest photo was awarded to Yumin Jeon (11). The students who earned the sneakiest or funniest photo were also rewarded with a selection of gift cards and mobile game currency.
“Many say winning Assassin is all based on luck,” Justin Hong (12), HSSC Assassin winner, said. “But I think not. It takes skill to win. I’m just better.”
