Battle of the Bands, a social event organized by Dwight School of Seoul (DSS), aims to bring together international schools throughout the country to a night of entertainment and good cause. Students and teachers from SIS are encouraged to perform or attend the charity performance, which will be held on Oct. 31 at DSS from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The first Battle of the Bands was held last year, with eight bands participating. Like last year, all funds raised will be donated to purchase musical instruments for the less fortunate. This year, Dwight plans to boost participation with more bands, special booths in conjunction to their mystery box theme, and changing the date to Halloween.
“Holding the event on the night of Halloween will make it more exciting, enjoyable, and memorable,” said Sarah Keum (11), DSS student and coordinator of the event. “[Battle of the Bands] will be an event that integrates creativity, performance and entertainment. Everyone is welcome!”
The currently signed up nine teams will feature performers of various music tastes and ages, from seventh grade to senior performers. Dwight anticipates more bands to share their talents and invites SIS students and faculty to showcase their own musical talents.
Tickets will be 5,000 won at the door and more information about participating or the event itself can be found through [email protected].
