“Bull” on CBS, Premiere Date Undetermined
Following his departure from hit television series “NCIS,” Michael Weatherly is starring in new CBS show “Bull,” featuring the story of Dr. Phil McGraw. Before his career as a television host, Dr. Phil McGraw, conventionally known as Dr. Phil, founded a consulting firm that became immensely successful after handling a case involving Oprah Winfrey. Though based on Dr. Phil, the storyline of the show is not entirely the same. In “Bull,” Weatherly plays the role of Dr. Jason Bull, a very successful trial consultant who works to defend even the most disliked of defendants. Though CBS has not released a definite fall premiere date, the show is garnering a significant amount of anticipation, as viewers are excited to see Michael Weatherly take on the role of a more serious character after having played lighthearted Special Agent Tony Dinozzo in NCIS for the past 13 years. The trailer for “Bull” can be found here.
Season 23 of “Dancing with the Stars” Late September
Starting its 23rd season this fall, “Dancing with the Stars” is already a well-established and well-known television show. But this show is particularly of special interest. In our first issue this year, we published a Card News segment detailing Ryan Lochte’s involvement in the international scandal known as “Lochtegate.” As a result of his exaggeration and dishonesty on the international stage, many of his sponsorships were terminated (Find more at: EMBED LINK). This, however, did not prevent him from landing a spot in “Dancing with the Stars” as the celebrity partner to professional dancer Cheryl Burke. “Dancing with the Stars” is a show in which celebrities are paired with professional dancers to perform weekly routines. They are judged by a panel, and the pair that receives the lowest score is eliminated. Ryan Lochte’s first routine can be found here.
Season 11 of “Criminal Minds” Sept. 28
For 10 seasons now, every Wednesday night, a team of elite FBI agents from the Behavior Analysis Unit (BAU) fight the clock to predict and prevent the activities of serial killers, rapists, and more. Starting Sept. 28, the new team of BAU agents will embark on this journey once again, led by Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) David Rossi, portrayed by Joe Mantegna. The team will go through some several significant changes, as SSA Derek Morgan, portrayed by Shemar Moore, and SSA Aaron Hotchner, played by Thomas Gibson, will no longer be on the show. Gibson was involved in a highly publicized altercation with a crew member on set which led to his being fired. Viewers predict that the departure of SSA Hotchner, the leader of the BAU since its conception, will drastically change the dynamic of the remaining member of the team. SSA Emily Prentiss, played by Paget Brewster will be returning to the show as a permanent member of the team after being written off in previous seasons. Despite the recent changes in casting, “Criminal Minds” is a great show for fans of intense action and police procedural dramas.
