As Valentine’s Day approaches, HSSC announces the opening of Valogram sales, an annual event organized by the High School Student Council (HSSC) for SIS students who wish to give their loved ones a small gift.
Previously, Valograms could be purchased without limit via a form sent to the entire school community. Students and faculty members were able to send a custom message with a small bag of sweets to their recipients.
However, starting in the 2025-’26 school year, HSSC has decided to add a new option for writing handwritten letters in collaboration with the National Arts Honor Society (NAHS) for those who want to deliver their message privately, rather than the original method of delivering pre-written printed messages.
“I think the new implementation of the option to write private custom handwritten letters is a beneficial addition to Valograms,” Minho Chun (11), Valogram purchaser, said. “I used to feel a little uncomfortable with the fact that all of my messages were visible to HSSC members when packaging the Valograms, but with this new addition, I was encouraged to purchase a lot more than I did last year.”
With HSSC deciding to add a new option of writing handwritten letters by collaborating with NAHS for those who want to deliver their message privately, more people were drawn to the opportunity to purchase a special letter of their own. Granting people the opportunity to deliver handwritten messages personally presented a novel experience for both the recipient and the sender, enhancing the quality and character of the gift.
