An unknown cause of numerous musical artists canceling their shows came to light. Rumors suggest that the cancellations are due to the ‘Blue Dot Fever,’ in which the blue dots refer to unfilled seats on the online registration form. The phenomenon occurred to major musical artists, too, including singers like Meghan Trainor, Post Malone, and Zayn.
Some speculated about several reasons for the growing number of cases of ‘Blue Dot Fever’, with the rise of digital media being the most commonly cited.
“I think such cases started rising ever since the growth of social media and digital technology,” Timothy Cha (11), frequent concert watcher, said. “People grew more attracted to short-form dopamine over the recent years, which I think is the main cause behind this new trend of the ‘Blue Dot Fever’.”
As such, concerts slowly diminish over the years due to these cases; it is crucial to recognize the unique experiences one can have by evaluating the long-term effects and stories one can live by, rather than the rising trend of short-form addictions.
