SIS hosted its first pep rally of the 2024-’25 school year for fall season sports on Sep. 10. The event was held in TG3, welcoming student athletes participating in volleyball, cross country, tennis, and golf, laying the foundation for school spirit.
The pep rally featured a mix of numerous events, some that were hosted in previous pep rallies and some that were newly introduced. The D$Q club performed their annual pep rally performance, with the members dancing to Aespa’s “Supernova.” The pep rally also saw the debut of a new event—egg roulette. Student athletes were invited to crack an egg, without knowing whether it would be hard-boiled or raw, over their respective coach’s heads. The audience was also encouraged to participate in the egg-cracking.
“I didn’t expect to actually get a raw egg, but the moment got a lot of good reactions and added to the fun of the pep rally,” Minsung Choi (10), varsity tennis player, said. “I think events like these help foster a sense of unity within a school community.”
Finally, following the previous two events is the traditional tug o’ war, with the boys varsity golf team and girls varsity volleyball emerging victorious, just as they had the previous year.
This year’s pep rally highlighted student athletes and introduced new activities, setting it apart from previous years. This pep rally especially encouraged students to be involved with sports and continue to cheer on the school community.
