SIS took part in KAIAC tournaments of volleyball, tennis, and cross country from Oct.31-Nov.1, concluding the ‘25-26 Fall sports season. With one final tournament to represent the school, each team put in their best effort for each victory.
The boys tennis team traveled to SFS and achieved first place in the conference to secure their second treble in two years, further solidifying them as one of the most dominant teams in the league. All individual positions, from singles 1 to doubles 2, reached the final round of their respective bracket, and the team finished first place in the tournament. Similarly, the girls tennis team managed to secure second in the conference, but fell short in the tournament, finishing third place overall.
“Winning in the KAIAC finals was a great way to end my varsity tennis career,” Jin Kim (12), varsity tennis captain, said. “This meant that I was able to finish the season undefeated; the team as a whole was also extremely successful, finishing the season without a single loss at the tournament.”
On Nov. 1, the varsity boys volleyball team fell short to APIS in the match for fifth place while the girls could not get the win against Chadwick. Both the boys and girls volleyball teams placed sixth at the KAIAC tournament, but more importantly, they secured a promotion to the blue division after failed attempts from past seasons.
“Going against SFS was the highlight of the tournament, as they were a strong opponent and enabled our team to gain a valuable learning experience,” Raisen Qi (10), varsity volleyball outside hitter, said. “The experience of playing in a pressuring environment was definitely something that will help me prepare for similar situations next season.”
The varsity cross country team wrapped up their season at CDS, with the boys team placing third and the girls placing sixth. Despite the relatively cold conditions, the team pushed hard to make every step matter.
All three teams worked hard to represent the school and gave their all in the final tournament of the season.
